Where to invest? 

If you have not already, please take a look at my Investing 101 post where I cover the three most important factors – in addition to time and money – in an investment portfolio (reminder:  Low Fees, Diversification, Rebalancing).

First: Make sure to (very important!) determine your risk/reward profile (markets will go down, they just will – you need to be sure the level of volatility you can tolerate) 

Second: Have you opened an account at a discount broker?  I recommend Questrade (read my review here). 

Third: Get out your calculator – it’s time to do some math!
